Virginia Business One-Stop:  Web-based resource providing information on business establishment, licensing, tax structure, legal structure, etc.  

Capital Region Small Business Development Center (SBDC): Provides free customized counseling for business startups and small business expansions.  Areas of emphasis include business plan development, market research, raising capital, financial management, strategic planning, and organization development.

Virginia Community Economic Network:  The Virginia Community Economic Network (VCEN) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit education, networking and advocacy organization promoting innovative, creative and sustainable local entrepreneurship and place making strategies that spur job creation, increase wealth-building, and enhance community vitality.

Richmond SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) Since 1965, SCORE has served the Richmond area with free, customized and confidential advice from experienced volunteers, networking events, and interactive workshops.

Virginia Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services:  The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) supports the state's varied agricultural community by assisting producers and processors locate the best markets for their products, both domestically and abroad.
