Powhatan County Economic Development is pleased to announce the Powhatan Business Assistance Grant program. The grant program is funded using the Federal CARES Act funding, which the Powhatan Board of Supervisors have allocated $517,404.60 to assist small businesses in Powhatan.

Richmond region business, community, and governmental leaders have come together to form ForwardRVA, a coalition focused on creating an innovative reopening and planning framework.
The immediate focus is to support businesses in reopening and operating safely. In the days and weeks ahead, ForwardRVA will share tools and resources, which will include the perspectives of RVA’s restaurateurs, retailers, and small business owners.

Powhatan County earned its award for redefining their community vision to create a strong, diverse economy, according to VEDA. The community set out on a year-long vision that resulted in a playbook – an implementation plan – that began in 2018 to build a high-functioning economic development program.
